A big and beautiful old set of geometric solid blocks--or more likely a number of partial sets mixed together over time, with a particular abundance of tetrahedron (triangular pyramids), my particular favorite, making for a very beautiful geometrical forest when arranged together (see third photo, yum.) The first photo includes almost all of them, though many are not well visible; the rest of the photos document them all in smaller groupings. I could have spent the whole day playing around with these, and of course they were much used for teaching drawing (form, shading, etc. too)--but these are also of substantial scale, which makes just arranging them in sculptural configurations to set on shelves very satisfying too.  Nice old ones, with a beautiful warm patina to the wood, which varies a bit among them, all to the good. 

Largest blocks (cones, large rectangles, columbs, prisms) stand 4" tall. Smallest cube 1". All in beautifully aged, well used condition. Late 19th/early 20th c. I believe.
