Issued in 1982, this Brazilian commemorative stamp honors the 100th anniversary of Henrique Lage’s birth. Lage (1881–1941) was a pioneering industrialist whose influence extended across mining, shipbuilding, and aviation—three sectors symbolically represented on the stamp with ore carts, a ship, and an aircraft. His visionary efforts helped modernize Brazil’s industry and maritime infrastructure in the early 20th century. Designed by Lucia TV Ramos, the stamp’s crisp layout celebrates both technological progress and national pride.
