He was based in Berlin at the time and had traveled from Paris to New York to Toronto for a North American tour in 1926. He gave a concert with this instrument and charmed the audience. The recordings on this album were made between 1925 and 1927 in the U.S. and Berlin, and since Kreisler rerecorded the same piece many times, there are several different takes of some pieces, making it possible to enjoy listening to and comparing them.
